Michael Joseph Liberatore is an attorney licensed in the states of Massachusetts and California. Michael graduated in 1980 from Columbia College/Columbia University with a degree in History and a minor in Spanish Literature. He attended law school at Northeastern University, graduating in 1983.

After graduation, Michael was awarded a fellowship from the Organization of American States to pursue the study of environmental law in Brazil.

In 1984, he relocated to California, where he became a member of the California bar, working for a short period as a securities litigation attorney.

In 1986, he accepted an offer from a law firm in São Paulo, Brazil, and proceeded to work for nearly three years as in-house US legal counsel.  While in Brazil, Michael lectured extensively for the U.S. – Brazil Cultural Institute, acting as Program Head for courses on the “American Short Story”, the “U.S. Civil Rights Movement”, the “Progressive Period in American Politics”, and other US related topics. 

In 1989, Michael was transferred to Miami, Florida and in 1990 established the Liberatore Law Firm, centering on the practice of US immigration and nationality law.

Since 1990, Michael has immersed himself in the complex body of rules and regulations that is commonly referred to as “Business Immigration Law”.  His expertise extends to all varieties of business immigration programs, including those permitting foreigner investors to obtain immigration benefits on the strength of business projects here in the United States; sports and entertainment related immigration issues; and a host of other immigrant and non-immigrant programs.  He frequently discourses in Brazil, Colombia, and other Latin American locations on the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa Program; various non-immigrant programs, such as the L-1, H-1, O-1, E visa programs; as well as TN and other free trade agreement-related visa programs.
